Growth hacking companies

Growth hacking is already an established marketing concept.

What I find fascinating is that those principles and concepts can be used to growth hack companies too:

“It begins with this idea: Your company is a product. Yes, the things you make are products (or services), but your company is the thing that makes those things. That’s why your company should be your best product.
...
[In] product development, progress is achieved through iteration. if you want to make your product better, you have to keep tweaking, revising, and iterating. The same thing is true with a company.”

— Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson on It Doesn’t Have to Be Crazy at Work

It doesn't make sense that companies — that evolve in the ever-changing business landscape — do not systematically develop their Company Operating System. And I know no better mindset to build anything than systematic growth loops.

Here are a few ways in which growth hacking principles can be applied to improve any company's operating system:

  • Analyse the Company Operating System and identify the key levers to the success of your operating system.
  • Rapid experimentation and testing of different concepts and practices to achieve the desired results.
  • Use data to make data-driven decisions to optimize the operating system.

Do you have any experience using growth hacking principles to optimize your company operating system?
